❃ CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ❃

“Characters are not created by writers.  They pre-exist and have to be found…” – Elizabeth Bowen

After you have an idea for a story, you need characters to tell that story.  The trick is that your characters need to be more than just figments of your imagination… They need to live and breathe.  They need to have needs and wants, and they have to have a purpose.  Start with a character bio.  Get to know them, and don’t be surprised if they evolve into something other than what you have written down.  They will have a mind of their own, after all.
